About Puzzetto
Puzzetto exists because of a small daily ritual: coffee, phone, one puzzle, then the day starts. That ritual is worth protecting. So this site has no signup wall, no video ad before the board loads, no notification asking you to install anything, and no puzzle held back for subscribers.
There are ten games and they rotate through very different kinds of thinking on purpose. Word Guess and Anagram Rush are quick vocabulary hits. Word Groups and the Mini Crossword ask you to hold several ideas at once. Sudoku and Nonogram are pure deduction with no language in them at all, which makes them the ones people reach for when they want to stop using words for a while. Math Guess is arithmetic dressed as a guessing game. Trivia Five is there for the days when you want to learn something rather than solve something.
Every puzzle is generated from its own date. That sounds like a technical footnote, but it has a nice consequence: the archive is not a database of saved puzzles, it is the same function evaluated at a different day. Nothing can be lost, every puzzle from launch day onward is still playable, and the whole site can run fast and free.
Puzzles are checked by machine before they go out. Every sudoku is verified to have exactly one solution. Every nonogram is verified to be unambiguous. Every crossword grid is verified to interlock with real words and real clues. Every word search is verified not to contain a target word by accident. Where a generator cannot guarantee quality, the content behind it — clues, trivia questions, group categories — was written by hand.

How much does Puzzetto cost?
Nothing. Every puzzle, every day, plus the entire back catalogue, is free to play. There is no account to create, no app to install and no premium tier hiding the good puzzles.
When do the puzzles change?
All ten puzzles roll over at midnight UTC. The countdown on the home page always shows exactly how long you have left with the current set. Because everyone gets the same puzzle on the same date, you can compare results with a friend anywhere in the world.
Do I need an account to keep my streak?
No — and there is no account to make. Your results, streaks and half-finished boards are stored in your own browser. That means your streak lives on the device you play on, so clearing your browser data or switching to a new phone will start it fresh.
How does the leaderboard work without accounts?
Finish one of today’s puzzles and you are offered the chance to post your score under any name you like. It is optional, and it is the only thing on the site that sends anything to a server — skip it and nothing about your play ever leaves your browser. Because every puzzle is generated from its date, the server can rebuild the answer key and check your solution before listing you, so nobody can post a win they did not finish. Times are measured by the server from your first move. Boards clear at midnight UTC.
Can I play puzzles I missed?
Yes. Every puzzle since the site launched is in the archive, and playing an old one works exactly like playing today’s. Archive puzzles do not count toward your daily streak, since streaks track consecutive calendar days.
Where do the puzzles come from?
They are generated in-house. Each puzzle is a mathematical function of its date, drawn from vocabulary, clue and question banks written for this site, then checked by machine for solvability before it is ever published. Nothing is scraped from another puzzle publisher.
Is Puzzetto connected to Wordle, Connections or the NYT Games?
No. Puzzetto is independent and unaffiliated with any other puzzle publisher. Several of our games belong to genres those publishers helped popularise, but every word list, clue, category and question here was written for Puzzetto.
Which puzzle should I start with?
If you have five minutes, Word Guess and Trivia Five are the fastest ways in. If you want something to sink into, the Mini Crossword and Nonogram reward a slower pace. Sudoku gets harder as the week goes on, so Monday is the friendliest day to start.
Does the site work offline or on a phone?
Every game is built to be played one-handed on a phone, with touch controls throughout. The site needs a connection to load, but once a puzzle is open the game itself runs entirely in your browser.
